Who's in Charge?
So much goes into a successful trade show experience...planning, preshow promotion, booth activities and lead follow-up. All these activities require stated goals (refer to ROI blog dated 11/16/11) and great execution is dependent on clearly designating who is in charge.
Think of your tradeshow as if you were a symphony group preparing for a performance.
The Director
Conductor – the person ultimately in charge of choosing the score and creating an event where all performers complement each other, enter on cue and perform professionally;
The Performers
Promoter – responsible for identifying the audience and creating enough interest to sell out the seats of the venue; (who is in charge of pre show preparations)
Staging – themed visual elements that compliment the score; (who is in charge of physical booth and/or off site event)
Woodwinds – typically the first of the instruments to begin playing, led by a principal (who is in charge of booth personnel)
Brass – they enter with the sound of attention getting horns (who is in charge of in booth promotions)
Percussion – the constant back drop of a beat (who is in charge of reviewing leads and quantifying quality over quantity)
Strings – leading the performance to a crescendo (who is in charge of elevating your leads to a purchase)
And at the end of it all, the grand finale (achievement of goals) followed by a standing ovation for all!
