Thanks for Giving

The Thanksgiving holiday always gives me reason for pause.

This is one holiday that still mimics its original intention.  Our fore fathers set aside a day to give thanks for the blessings of the land and freedom.  Today, most of us continue the tradition each with our own menus and venues.

So today I give thanks to all that have given back to us:

  • Our client partners that are the reason for our success;
  • Our vendors that have worked hard to meet our deadlines;
  • My employees that give their talent every day and make their job about more than money;
  • Our fellow exhibit houses that come together to make the industry better;
  • Supporting organizations that continue to share their knowledge and resources with me;
  • My lawyer, CPA, landlord and bank that support our efforts every day;
  • The opportunities where we were not awarded the contract – we learn from them;
  • The support of my friends who understand why I cannot make all the social functions but still love me anyway;
  • My children who amaze me more each day with their talents and willingness to share their resources with others;
  • My husband who always has a shoulder for me to rest upon.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, I encourage you to share with those around you and with those less fortunate.  Don’t forget to add an extra $20 at the grocery checkout towards the charitable organization featured.

It is this holiday that I look around at the dinner table and can’t help but smile and give thanks for all that has been given me in this life.  We give freely of our love and ourselves without the trappings of gift giving.  That is why Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year.
